CREATING ON LINE CONTENT BY TEACHERS and STUDENTS
Dr.T.V.Rao
We as Teachers create the knowledge content for our students, today many of us make by Power Point as LCD teaching has become a practical affair, and smart classrooms are future of learning. Many times our best of our efforts in knowledge creation will die with the class and no further and never forget many in the world wish to learn the topics from different universities colleges as the perceptions are different as per the circumstances vary from one region to other, many times we find very interesting when the files created in Africa on Parasitology as they have the real experience in dealing with problems and many times we talk on theoretical basis and matters many vary as work cultures differ. However whatever we teach must have an impact on our students it makes the same in our publication and research work and it has no impact it will die soon of the utility. There’s often a big disconnect between the training that is delivered and the training that has impact. It’s because training is commissioned by someone who doesn’t take the training like a professional What happens is that while the training has all of the right information it doesn’t frame it in a perspective that is true or relevant to the learner; India faces greater challenges as our Medical Teachings to Undergraduate students, and have become theoretical, our students fare badly when they become real Doctors and that’s because the end-user usually doesn’t have a seat at the table and rarely take the students’ needs when the training is being developed. Many times we don’t interact with students as we have so many matters to learn from our students I am conscious students are my co partners in learning and not dumb as many teachers think one way to do that is by spending some time with your learners. Share the content and objectives and then get their feedback. Ask them what content is most meaningful and useful to them. Ask how they’d structure the training. - Keep in mind that what the end-user thinks is important isn’t always the priority – In view of support of the system and many students In a matter of few years I have digitalized the content I taught to my Undergraduates and post graduates to on line portals, it makes me happy my content go viral to the world and many universities who teach Medicine, Microbiology and Infectious diseases Course content doesn’t always address the nuances of real work, and if I talk sincerely I has few facilities to work and few subordinate staff are interested to improve the knowledge. That’s why spending time with your learners and seeing how they perform in a real environment is critical for successful training. And you’ll learn things that aren’t addressed by the content. As you interview your learners build a quick prototype of how the course would work. It doesn’t have to be perfect. I used to use Power Point and hyper links to do this. And the contents I teach I will hyper link with Facebook or Twitter It’s a quick way to get an idea of how to structure the course content especially for interactive scenarios when the students see our content and reach with few comments and suggestions –Many Medical teachers can collect the photos of the clinical and diagnostic scenarios Today it’s even easier than in the past. You can shoot digital photos or videos and insert them in slides, and students are happy to know something happening around. The e Learning software is getting so easy to use that rapid prototyping only take a few minutes People come up and ask how to do specific things and in minutes we can build a quick interactive scenario - that’s your situation then build the course and prior to final approval have some of the end-users take it. If you can, try to observe how they go through the course contents and get a feedback. Often this will expose so user experience issues like navigation or improper instructions. Try to solicit as much feedback as you can so that you can make adjustments prior to uploading the files – The main point in all of this is that the goal is to create a successful course and one way to do so is to spend some time with your learners to understand their needs and how to design a course that both meets your learning objectives and the needs of the learner. I found that our Students too can make very creative programs for learning when they are assigned a complex topic in seminars, and I think we should be facilitators to be organized learning for many in world as Knowledge and Humanity creativity are progressing with technology progress of Human race, THE WISE TEACHERS SEE MUCH CREATIVITY TODAY THAN IN THE PAST, AND WORLD WIDE WEB AND ON LINE PORTALS ARE CHANGING HOW WE CAN BECOME BETTERS LEARNERS AND KNOWLEDGE CREATORS.,
NEVER FORGET TOMORROWS STUDENTS WISH LEARN FROM MULTIMEDIA THAN FORM THEIR OWN TEACHERS, IT IS TIME TO THINK HOW TEACHERS CAN COPE UP WITH EMERGING CIRCUMSTANCES ?
